Unfortunately the breed numbers continue to decline and go down. Such an amazing breed of horse is just not going up in numbers. A mix of a lot of things I think is the cause of it. Lack of education, public knowledge, lack of breeders, lack of money to bring horses in and compete them to expose them and breed them. A lot of horses are being sold without paperwork which means we are losing track and records of their registration and therefor the numbers. There is a very large amount of reasons that is causing the issue. Absolutely heart breaking really because it is such an amazing breed of horse. This means there are fewer than 200 annual registrations in the United States and estimated global population less than 2,000 Canadian Horses.
